is it still possible to setup security key?? because its require a serial number which is il dont have since this game is free on steam.

I'm sure the intent is for you to still be able to set one up.

The steam launch hasn't been the smoothest thing, so its possible there was an oversight I guess.

Actually, I don't think it ever asks for your actual product key.

The serial number should be provided by the website somewhere (probably the security key setup screen), and you input it into the app on your phone.

Yes, all you have to do is to download Star Wars The Old Republic security key app on your mobile, then you go to swtor.com then click MY ACCOUNT and at the panel on the left there should be a Security Key tab, it will aks you then if you have physical key or if you want to par it with the mobile app, then just select mobile and follow the steps. Done.
Edit: Serial numbers were a thing 8-9 years ago when the game first launched on DVD disc, it came with a serial number just like any other game that gets released physically these days.

Yep works great. You can also use WinAuth on your computer or something like Google Authenticator to have a centralized system for all your games/apps (except WoW because it has to be different)

I still have a serial number and restore code for my Blizzard one from a few years back I just keep it just incase lol

i tried and didnt show up setup with mobile in my account , idk whats wrong in it

and yeah its still require "serial number of your security key" field
