Least played class in the game?
Just wondering, which class is played the least in this game?

Well considering that everyone want to play jedi/sith all force based classes are pretty popular period.

Then lot of people love stealth for pvp and what's not, that takes out operative and whatever its republic copy is.

After that its logical that ranged classes are probably more popular than melee ones because they are easier to play. This takes out mercenary/commando and sniper/gunslinger.

That will leave us with powertech/vanguard I guess. Out of these two powertech is far more popular because its on empire side and mandalorian/baby yoda is still what people associate it with.

Thus, vanguard it is.

Trooper is probably the least played due to it having the worst storyline

You honestly think the Consular story is better than the one of the Trooper? Ok, the Trooper story is kinda formulaic and basically what you may expect from a story about a special unit, but at least it's not the story of a glorified shrink.

Have only played the Trooper, 34, (funnily enough, I play vanguard) and the jedi knight, 37, but I tend to enjoy the Trooper's story and play more.

Just my 2 cents.

Believe it or not, but I think that the Consular story is actually the best on in the game since it is extremely Lore heavy and intertwined with the different planetary story archs. Sure, it is definitely not the typical "Hero of the Day" trope, but that is exactly what I like about it.

Anecdotally I would agree that Vanguard is the least popular. Hardly ever see em.

Which is interesting, considering that they make the by far easiest to play tanks.

Is it? I think in this particular game the majority of the masses pick a character based on the connection to a character from the movies or other Star Wars material, and I can't think of any character that would draw people to the Vanguard.

I agree with the vanguard one being least played. At least commando still has a cannon to at least make you look good in that boring storyline and I find the animations clunky. Of all my characters (maxed it all out) I still can't feel the need to level up my commando her renown to 100 for the title. Waiting on double xp. I'm not that masochistic.

Usually people say consular storyline but I rather enjoyed the change of pace and the focus on the force it instead had.

I have a feeling I'll like the trooper storyline as well.
Imo, it’s Vanguard. You either met only 2 types of Vanguard player; The best or the worst. There’s no in between like other classes.

Okay, thanks for replies, folks!
So Vanguard is the least played. Sounds good, since I already had my eyes on that class. Plus, I do not like to play the popular picks, if I can help it. Exception being any pick that liked for my own reasons. So probably going to play Jedi Shadow and Vanguard the most.
Thanks again for the comments!

It depends on how you measure it. The stat parser "StarParse" allows players to upload their combat log and produce weekly raid statistic[ixparse.com]. As of weak 31 in 2020, game version 6.1.2d:

Gunslinger / Sniper is currently the least played class (5%).

However, when we restrict ourselves to DPS, Scoundrel / Operative is the least (4.8%), followed closely by Shadow / Sin (7.7%). That mean these classes are overwhelmly played as heal / tank, unlike Sage / Sorc or VG / PT which still has substantial DPS plays (25% and 18%).

Scoundrel / Operative is the least common heal (22%, partly because they are HoT and must melee to off-dps), while VG / PT is the least common tank (21%).

Limiting to pub / imp doesn't change the numbers much, apparently everyone have found their favourite.

After having 8000 hours in the game, I can tell you the weakest story (i.e least played story) in SWTOR is the Trooper, Then the Consular and then finally, the Smuggler. The Republic side has some extremely weak stories, the knight was decent, but if you're really looking for something that'll keep your attention then play through the Empire Side, you won't regret it ^^. Both Sith storylines are amazing, the agent story can really make you think and the bounty hunter's is what you'd expect.

I find the contrary. I finished all republic sides but have difficulties moving the imp stories forward.

It's not like the story matter anyway. I may not have finished any imp stories but I got two 75 there, more than pub actually.
