Do Cartel Coin/Subscriber Purchases Go Towards Trading Cards?

I bought $20 in cartel coins and my steam trading cards still say I haven't spent any money towards SWTOR to unlock trading cards. Is it JUST the DLC? (The bundles). I can't find any threads of this happening with anyone else or any threads about this entirely. I assume by now that those purchases don't go towards card drops.

I had to use my cartel coins to buy something from the market. Just buying the cartel coins did not work. I had to spend the coins.
