I solved it for me by downloading this file: http://cdn-patch.swtor.com/patch/LauncherRepairUtilityD2020.0.6.exe

Download and run the Launcher Repair Utility to find and replace any files that may be causing problems:

Close the SW:TOR launcher.
Download the launcher repair file from the link.
When you’re asked, choose to Save the file.
Copy or move the downloaded file to your SW:TOR game folder.
Once you’ve copied the file, double-click on it to run it.
Choose Install, and let it run.
When it’s finished running, it opens the launcher. Try logging in and patching again.

I think this might be a roundabout fix for the other launcher issue where it blocks you if you logged into the wrong account

Yes, this seems to have fixed my problem with logging into the "wrong" account (the one I didn't want to use, but just wanted to check and be sure) with Steam. Thanks!

be careful guys if you use this method you still cant pay through steam bc your linked acc will recieve reward, not main one

Im still getting error code and the repair option on the utility is grayed out. :(
