If you want difficulty, though, you're not going to find it in the story portion of the game. The story portion is for people who are more interested in story than in getting killed by random mobs. If you want difficulty, participate in Ops or PvP, depending on your taste.
That's how this genre is.
Except Mortal Online. Yep, that's the only difficult one.
Somehow I think you never played at launch and certainly never played vanilla WoW back in the day.
Back in the day I played Lineage 2. Vanilla one. Yes that was hardcore.
But now all mmos are brain dead until you get to whatever endgame they are supposed to have.
This one is no different. At least official servers.
You used to need to learn your class a bit, and leveling or equipping better gear actually felt like progression, but now you can go have a snack while your companion solos quest bosses.
I dunno about high level content, but the begging of FF14 is no harder than SWTOR.
