Her writing was super cringey because it was horribly outdated hip hop slang written by white dudes. The character is good underneath that and she really is a tragic character. Her whole coming to terms with Roland's death is some of the best writing in the series. You could see a real person under her false front.

Funny fact just to add to that:

Tina's character was a collaborative effort by the siblings Anthony Burch (BL2 lead writter) and Ashly Burch (Tina's voice actor) they mainly based her off a character that Ashly plays in their Youtube show "Hey Ash Watchu Playing", if you look up old episodes you'll immediately recognize where Tina's "craziness" was inspired from.

Also, I don't know if you noticed, but Tina didn't JUST speak in outdated hip-hop, she also spoke in broken Japanese and Spanish. The reason why her speech was all stitched together like this was because Ashly had freedom over the character and would just spitball and improv like it's another episode of HAWP.
Tiny Tina is and has been a fan favorite since her introduction.

Assault on Dragon's Keep was bar-none the most successful DLC released for ANY borderlands game.

Believe it or not, you are not "special" or "enlightened" if you for some reason hate Tiny Tina..

You are welcome to your opinion, but you are absolutely the minority here and for good reason...

gotta say im with the op on this one. imo, ALL borderlands characters are terrible, borderlands has the most gratingly terrible writing, humor, characters, and general atmosphere of just about any game ive ever played (some have been worse in one area or another, but only the borderlands series manages to be abysmal across the board) but out of all of them, no one makes me want to shoot myself in the face more than tiny tina. followed closely by claptrap.

it is a testament to how much fun the gameplay is (to me anyway) that im willing to suffer through the awfulness to play... but man, after bl3, im at my limit. if this game is anywhere near as bad im just going to refund it and move on with life, because f me running, bl3 was about the most annoying game ive ever played and ill never force my way through anything that terrible again, life is too short for that. bl3 was the first borderlands game where my group got to the end and instead of immediately cheering and looking forward to the post-game gear optimization grind, we all collectively sighed in relief and said 'THANK GOD THAT IS OVER now we can uninstall it and never touch it again'...

im cautiously optimistic that maybe this one wont be that level of bad... but i tell you what, if they dont have a 'skip cutscene' option in from day one its going to be an INSTANT alt-f4 and refund because i dont want to deal with any more tiny tina than i absolutely HAVE to in order to play...

That was a VERY fun fact...one I didn't know. Thank you, I can die in peace.
I didn't play borderlands beside the first one, I don't remember Tina from there, but seeing the trailer was enough for me to understand that this is an extremely annoying character, especially her voice. It must be awful playing with a character like this.

So basically you have no reference whatsoever for the character and are completely fine with rendering your opinion. As others have mentioned, the character is "annoying" as designed. . .on surface observations. There is a depth to the character that, no, you wouldn't get from watching a small trailer. Imagine watching one episode of THE OFFICE - lets say the first - seeing Michael fire Pam "as a joke" and then coming to the conclusion that Michael is the worst character of all time. Michael is annoying and probably, outwardly, the worst character in that show. . .if you have no interest in actually understanding the show. The same applies here.

TLDR: You don't understand character design or development.

. . .having said that, Tina is the only interesting thing about a game that should have just been DLC as they had planned.

I forgot this game existed.

I stopped caring when it turned out to just be yet another First Person Shooter, just with a "Fantasy" theme this around, rather than an actual RPG.

Lols, nice bait, been sitting on that for a while?
