need guidance on moving over epic save onto Steam

I am having trouble moving my save files for TTW from epic to steam.

i installed the steam version and opened the game then closed. it created the folder and I copied my profile and game save file into the folder. i loaded the game and my character and info do not show up.

Is there something I am missing? am i copying it to the wrong folder?
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Tiny Tina's Wonderlands\OakGame\Saved\SaveGames\{{ long number }}

Any help would be appreciated. thanks.

did you select your new character

also make sure steam isnt restoring your old files

turn off steam backup while you are doing this

You don't need to make a new character.. The saves are located: "Documents\My games\Tiny Tina's Wonderlands\Saved\SaveGames"

Paste that into explorer. You will have one folder which is long, and if you launched the Steam version once, you'll have another shorter folder name.

Copy all of the files in the longer named folder to the shorter one - the shorter one should have a steam_autocloud.vdf file in it.


If you copied from the short name to the long name, it is possible you deleted your epic save. The short one is the Steam version, the long is the epic.

I launched the steam version but a shorter folder name does not show up.

If Steam autosave / cloud is enabled it should. Click on New Game, and maybe create a new character. That'll create it for sure. I didn't need to do the full intro or anything for mine.

tried again with Steam Cloud autosave enabled and disabled. no joy. :( tried creating a new character again and still nothing. copied my epic game saves and do not seem to find any saved files after creating a new character :thinking:

Check this folder: "Documents\My games\Tiny Tina's Wonderlands\Saved\SaveGames"

Copy it and paste it into explorer without the "s.. press enter.

@acecool - isn't that the save location for Epic Games?

One thing is i noticed is that I cannot find where it saved the new character i created in the steam version.

i figured it out.

I uninstalled Tiny Tina via Steam and installed it via Epic Games, THEN re-installed TTW from Steam.

My character loaded in steam w/o me doing anything :D

I was trying to get this working with a epic games save i backed up but had not installed the game from epic since I reformatted and installed Windows 11. my bad. thanks everyone.
