At no point in any of my previous Borderlands playthroughs did I get a full screen ad, a smaller ad in the corner, and a new submenu in the main menu. Dont even pretend like this has happened like this before.
I just stopped playing and uninstalled it after hitting CC lvl 35 and no , I don't have the DLCS
DLC's are very much overpriced. Still no TVHM.
Chaos chambers thenselves are a great idea, but their needs to be something to do with the new gear.
The game needs a digistruct peak style content or a Maliwan takedown map. It needs something like that.
Yes mate i totally agree because all the dlc's are is a mirror portal with a different version of the chaos chamber with an extra boss, no new areas or anything, takes the proper monkey.
So because I'm the sort of person who will move on after finishing the story this is honestly GOTY so far for me (Steam version) with a fair amount of side quests to do. I can fully see why people who want to end game raid hate it though. If you're a hardcore loot goblin especially I can see why the rage. The loot dice are fun for me, but probably not if you want the best asap.
Like most of these things it depends on what you're looking for in the experience. I am hand on heart am in love with the base game, but I'm still not paying money to run about the same few chambers over and over again. The DLC (IMO) is as bad as the base game is brilliant (not including endgame)
I don't hate it but its a weak entry into the BL world.
1) You run around forever looking for things to shoot - mobs taking cover is NOT conclusive to BL game play, Whats next? Mobs taking cover in Serious Sam? Sounds as stupid as it would be.
2) End game is meh - When you are ready stomped a mud-hole in the laughly short DLC content and are already bored, running around in what amounts to random encounters (see my point 1) isn't fun.
3) Loot is great but some items just stop dropping at all - For example I had a spell drop at level 1 that put up a bubble that healed you and increased your damage. I loved it. Haven't seen another drop and I'm max level and have finished the game including all side missions. And the last pixie gun I had drop was at level 20.
4) Trash loot to Good loot ratio is horrible. 99% of the loot that drops is vendor trash.
5) The DLCs are too short and add nothing to the story. - And I am of the opinion that BL3's DLCs saved the game.
I went into the game loving BL1 and BL2 and really liking BL3 and Pre-Sequel . I also love Tales from the Borderlands. TTWL barely scratches the BL itch.
*edit* And them once again not including a colorblind mode makes it hard as hell for me to play.
Of course BL2 is the benchmark. Until something better comes along.
The least people expect is it to be on par with BL2. But preferably better.
If the game does not meet that, then they should go back to the drawing board,
Booo to average games.
Yes I really wished that the DLCs were longer/more involved and I think at this point the character of Vesper totally needs to be explored and expanded.
You raise some issues, and I have mixed feelings about them.
1-Mobs taking cover - yeah it's annoying (especially if the sub-quest is to kill everything faster) but I also like that they aren't stupid.
2-I play with friends, so for me "end game" isn't much different from "the journey" as it's "about" us laughing, trying out different combos and role playing our characters.
3-Loot is RNG. I know the heal/increase damage bubble you mentioned - and I save pretty much any that drop (side note: my bank is always full and it's not all golds). I save Pixie/hydra guns and staves, and for a ridiculously long time no calamities would drop for any of my characters past about level 10 which drove me buggy.
4-99% of all the loot in all the B games is trash. However NOW I can enchant the trash! This goes back to your earlier complaints about pixie guns. They do drop in white y'know.
5-I loathed B3 and never bothered with the DLC's; I adored B2 and the DLCs were longer and more "story-esque" than here. As I mentioned above, I would like to see more done with Vesper - and I think there is potential.
6-Sorry to hear about the lack of a color blind mode. That would be annoying
7-Character customization is so much better in this game. Gotta figure out a way to post some screenshots of my peeps. I LOVE that you would never mistake one for the other, and on that note the lack of a "vault hunter" is an improvement in my book; I hate "pre-rolled characters" no matter their skill tree (in past games in my head cannon I re-named everyone I played). Hmm..this may speak to me being one of the "pen and paper roleplayers" who tend to like this game
Check out the positive reviews on here , together with Youtube videos and writeups and you will see for the many its a fun game , not perfect, but i never really see a perfect game that has everything i agree with or like in it (for me all the woke stuff makes me cringe, but ill overlook it for the generally good game that it is in the main)
noticed all the mechanics pretty much destroyed farming on any level for a looter-shooter...
the DLC is a Scam...
The Wokeness... is a generality in any game you'll play these days, here however, its a bit unbearable.
But hey. you guys got that discount. for a game... that is generally unfun to play.
when you realize that the industry, is gonna sell you... ♥♥♥♥... and youll keep buying.... ♥♥♥♥...
they will just sell you more ♥♥♥♥...especially for a promise of content thats not out, to judge, or cosmetics...
if any of you paid for the "Deluxe" versions or pre-ordered..(Including myself on epic)...
i feel sorry. at some point,a "Modern" Gamer has to realize, that their buying habits is what gets them generally ♥♥♥♥ games. why care when youve already been paid...
probably beat the campaign and DLC in the time i took to write this. quite sad.
The DLC is indeed terrible, and the Chaos chamber was probably a bad idea to start with. They'd be better off not selling any at this stage because it's just poisoning a good base game (for a lot of people, mostly the story D&D crowd to be fair)
As for the second: well I too am shocked that a game a based on a DLC with a main character called 'Butt-Stallion' features that kind of humour....
Give it a rest, please...
