extremely low volume?
this game runds extremely quietly compared to every other app ive ever ran on my pc. usually i will have around 12% system volume and that is more than enough. for tiny tinas i need to put system volume to 100% and then lower every other app individually to not rupture my eardrums if i get a sound outside the game, and then its STILL a bit lower volume than i prefer.

what the hell is up with the volume in this game? using my normal system volume that I use for everything else makes the game so quiet its barely louder than the ambient noise of silence.

anyone have a solution for this? have never had this issue with any other game or application.

Especially the NPCs' voices are very low

On a 5.1 setup, to hear npc's I need to turn sideways. Central speaker and sub are swapped, so dialog from the front goes to the sub and is impossible to hear in HiFi mode. Small speaker works sort of better, but still no sound straight ahead. Npc to the left or to the right sounds better. Volume in general is way too low

Could it be so simple that the game doesnt actually support a 2.1/stereo system? Talked to a friend who uses surround headphones and he says his volume is great. No problem what so ever and is telling me that I'm basically deaf.

I rarely ever use my surround headphones in the summer due to the heat. But I might try it out this weekend just to see if I DO get a better volume.

ive used DTS:X to simulate 7.1 headphones and it did not make a change. its also impossible for something like that to be what causes audio levels to be absurdly low.

there is only one reason this happens and that is incompetence from the devs. they straight up need to boost the volume by at least 5x

There is a lot virtualization apps... to have 5.1 with headphone / loudspeakers

HeSuVi can setup "profiles" (HRIRs) :
"dht" and "nahimic-" work great for me for games / films

I don't have problem with central speaker and sub swapped when it's virtualized.

Maybe you can try it, the videolink is short (5mn) but all steps must be applied (virtal cable... all link for download are in the youtube description)

In the HeSuVi there's a button "7.1 Test", I tried a lot HRIRs to find for me wich is the best...

To decrease or increase the volume you can use volume² which will take care of the volume of the sound card and not the volume of the virtual cable which must remain at 100% and default device.

volume² app link (free app) :

I don't have it as bad as some people are reporting, but annoying anyway with mostly dialogues being barely discernable. What seems to have made it better was setting system sound format to 44100Hz 16bit.

I have a vague memory that I had this same problem with Borderlands 3. And that I had to use my headphones to actually be able to have a decent volume in the game. But the thing is that not everyone seem to have this problem. And maybe thats why the devs just ignores it. Either way, this might be the last game I ever buy from Gearbox for several reasons.

I have the same issue here as well, i can barely hear Tina Tiny herself!... all my other games have no problems with sound, they are usualy always to loud that i have to put them down to 50% ingame.. yet TTW feels like i need 150% to hear the voices.

exactly, most games i reduce master volume to 30% or so, and my system volume is at around 15%. tiny tina i have 100% ingame volume, 100% system volume, still way too low.

Hopefully there's an update coming... crossing fingers. Just started this game and my volume is always set to 46% for everything, this game I have to crank it up to 100% to match it.

I haven't noticed an issue, in fact I had to turn the sound down. I am playing it with 7.1 sound

I dont see any fix for this coming anytime soon seeing as this has been a problem since it was released on Epic. And I also have a vague memory that I had the same problem on BL3 when it was released.

Not a huge deal, Bunisher. Volume up, play game... volume down when done. It is what it is

Thats not the point though. There are more things on your PC making noise than just the game. Say, for example, that a friend randomly calls me on Discord while I'm playing. My eardrums are just gonna explode if I max the volume on my PC. Just a random message on either Discord or even Steam is enough to burst my eardrums if I max out my volume.

I shouldnt need to max the volume to barely be able to hear the game. There is a reason why we are complaining, and trying to find a fix.
