Paladin Mike
Does anyone else find it disturbing to hear a female voice coming out of a male character paladin mike? It feels really bizzare especially once he takes his helmet off. I've nothing against female voice actors (which is what they used) when they can sound the part but here you can truly tell its a female voice. Would be like running into a 300lb man and hearing the most dainty female voice coming out.

It was hinted at that it was BL3 Lorelai's character as tina said she met someone on the echo net. Given Paladin mike also loves coffee and Lorelai sends you on way to many coffee related missions and its looks like her but with a mustache and its the same VA I just assumed that was who it was supposed to be.

Yup. Love the game but getting sick of the woke pandering. Luckily it isn't too bad yet, paladin Mike is clearly Lorelei, not sure why Tina chose her for that role. Perhaps its a Joan of Ark thing.

Having a genderqueer character isn't pandering. You all being bothered just shows your bigotry and closeminded-ness. Why does it bother you? If you're white does it bother you to have a brown person in your game? If you're a guy does it bother you to have a woman in your game? WHY? It should not bother you or affect you in any way. You should be ashamed of yourselves. It's fantasy and you still want it to hold to a completely arbitrary social construct of what is masculine and what is feminine. Absolutely repugnant, toxic, hateful behavior.

One of the bits that put me off BL3 was the voice acting especially from Lorelei, her so over the top fake british accent pissed me off. Then.. she ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ returns as mike in wonderlands.

Well the voice actress/actor is from britain, so technically it can't be a fake accent :D

I think that's freaking awesome and hilarious. If that caught you off guard, I'm jealous, because there's a lot of fabulous and amazing things in the world you have yet to encounter. You should go seek it out. It's pretty awesome! There are so many interesting ways to be a human being.

The fact you just called it a mental illness tells us exactly what your real problem is and you should probably stop playing video games. Bring LGB+ is not a mental illness and actual mental illnesses are nothing you should be shaming people for. Or do you shame military vets for having PTSD? What about children born with autism? The only one who should be ashamed of themselves are people like you. Educate yourself before talking BS.

yes its retarded and those that say it is not weird for a female to voice a guy are right but they have forgotten that borderlands players have gotten used to the very specific voice being used for a female in the previous game. Using the same voice with no change what so ever for a male makes it uncanny.

Isn't it just supposed to be her character though? The whole thing is supposed to be a Bunkers and Badasses campaign that Tiny Tina is running, right?

Tiny Tina says she borrowed the charecter sheet from someone online. I assumed that ment it was a Borderlands fan that got put in the game. Since games tend to do that sometimes.

It shouldn´t be suprise while you have "They/Them" in options during character creation, so I was kinda prepared. I have to say, it still took me some time to get used to it (becuse it´s not something you can see in games on regular basis).
But the character is funny.

Might be mentioned already, the person voicing Paladin Mike now identifies as male, or at least did, I think they ID as non-binary now. You would have to follow them on Twitter for the most current info, and I don't have Twitter.

Ciarán Strange is the name.
