And yet, I appreciate it's position, as a "I just want to complete the run PLEASE" situation. Yeah don't use it if you want to appreciate the timing aspect. And for the rest of us, we can use it as cheating, basically.
Valid argument.. Different playstyles might desire it.. But thats why I started this thread, to have a public agreement, or a public diversity of whether is has its place or not.
You were suggesting that the item be removed for all players. What about the players who DO find it fun to use the minigun?
The minigun is not an automatic "I win" button, you aren't always going to find the infinite ammo shield. Without infinite ammo, the minigun is a lot trickier and a lot less appealing. Any enemy which requires you to dodge to avoid damage means you need to stop shooting, which forces you to start up again.
Your problem is solved by not using that item combination if you think it isn't fun to use.
The minigun isn't even the first gun which comes to mind when I think of nerfs. The Haunted Revolver (square-barreled 4-shot pistol) is super-strong and doesn't need a second item to be powerful.
I just beat game on hellish in under 20 mins as soon as I had that with some other damage buffs (double shot + damage boost on rythm) it was GG. literally killed every boss before intro animation even finished.
Appreciate them adding hellish but game is still eitehr really hard early game and super easy late game sometimes as balance or lack there of is an issue.

Well stated.. Seems that overall the opinion is "OP but happy that the option is there"
Responses of "just don't use it then" are missing the point IMO because I should be able to try to actually win and have the game still be challenging, not deliberately play worse to make it more "challenging". Like if I thought the charge pistol did way too much damage, the solution shouldn't be for me to only fire it half as quickly to lower its DPS. If one gun or item lets you instawin every run you pick it up in, then it should be nerfed or reworked, simple as that.
There are a lot of things in the game which could be called imbalanced, but there is no bugfix for poor player willpower.
At no point is the player ever forced into taking that combination. The game has a lot of ways to remain challenging. Try one of them. Just because you do not like the combination does not give you standing to spoil the fun for players who do like the combination.
This is a rogue-like, randomness and good/bad luck are part of the genre.
If you start down the road of removing anything which might be strong, where will you stop? The suggestion to simply not use the item combination is absolutely correct.
EDIT: The Developers put the Minigun into the game in the first place. They also put in the "Full-Auto" challenge run, where you don't need to fire on the beat.
I agree with you. To have to play worse / avoid using powerful items affects the fun I have with a game. I like a forced challenge.
