TO NOTE :
- This is not a discussion about music tastes.
- I run this setup on W10, but it should work on others OS. Share alternatives if it doesn't !
Concerning my current setup, here's what I do:
1 > Vanilla game's actual bpm is precisely 88 on all tracks ( levels ).
2 > I choose music I like on Youtube, preferably with similar beat (e.g. JT Warzone rap ).
3 > I download the mp3 file with ytmp3 [ytmp3.cc]
4 > The free software Mix Meister [mixmeister-bpm-analyzer.en.softonic.com] runs a quick and reliable BPM analysis on mp3 files.
5 > Quick maths : 88/ ( BPM of your music ) = mutiplication factor
6 > Use Audacity's " change speed [manual.audacityteam.org] " feature. Multiply by factor computed above.
7 > Adjust the pitch [www.businessinsider.com] if BPM update was too strong.
8 > Export to dedicated folder. This file should have the right BPM !
9 > Run game, set music to 0, play your mp3 and match to the game tempo. ( Each level ~ 3-5"? )
10 > Profit !
I know this is kinda tideous, but I spent 20 minutes doing it mechanically, and it goes fast.
This is for now the best setup i have been able to think of, feel free to post ideas !
Some music natively have 88 BPM, but they are very rare.
87 or 89 BPM wont't cut it for more than a room ...
