What Happens When You Miss A Note?

I was watching a gameplay video and I noticed how the crosshair is tied to the beats, what happens if you miss a note though

the only real way to "miss" is if you try to fire when it isnt on beat or a half beat for a pistol. in which your multiplier gets set back to one, and you have to wait a beat (i think) to fire again. but there isnt really a huge penalty for really screwing up the timing.

The devs did a good job at making that clear

If i had to guess, they probably meant one click or dash off beat can be the difference between killing the enemy or death

There are some enemies that fire fast projectile that also lead your movement. Those attacks will be on beats. Missing dodge on those beats will often lead to a restart prompt.

It dont shoot and multiplier resets, and the room clear reward gets downgraded if it's not a perfect clear.
