side note: i recommend binding your reload to one of your mouse buttons, as it makes reloading much easier to time.
the coin chest randomly gives you stuff. better luck stat means more stuff, such as keys and shields. it can also sometimes spawn an enemy if you're unlucky. the amount of coins you can stuff in it before it jams is also random, which means that some of them can eat maybe 10 or 12 coins, while others can take more than 70 coins. i suggest not using them if your luck stat is poor.
Just beat the third boss. Getting better each run. I think Huggin's shop is getting better as I spend there but I'm not sure.
Spending cash in the shop and in the armory will increase the number of available items. Both max out at 1000 gold spent.
Huggin's shop actually has a free potion at max level.
Also the bank, if you manage to put 100 gold in it will have a secret room with free gold or keys on subsequent runs. It will always have this secret room as long as the gold reserve is above 100
