Luck affects gambling, probably chest quality, and I would guess crits with you have gear enabling them.
Ability affects the strength of abilities. For example, if you get the ability that literally spawns coins, the higher your ability the more coins it spawns per casting.
- Damage: more damage...you can kill faster. Ive found it isnt ALWAYS 1 point more of damage delt. I'm fairly certain its %based. Damage delt also has to do with range to target with damage falloff. This is especially evidant with the shotgun pistol doing around 3 damage up close and around .3 damage at max range.
- Ability: This only works with some of the ultimates. Things like barter or cursed luck it does nothing, but things like Mjolnir or Celestial Drumroll make them insane. It adds "Projectiles" to the attack. BY AND FAR my fave is with Celestial Drumroll. you can 3/4 a boss with full ability points.
- Luck This effects loot. From enemy drops to loot in chests, and the chests you get THEMSELVES from clearing rooms, In my experience even what items you seem to get in shops. The higher the luck stat, the better chance you'll get a wide chest, or even a gun chest after clearing a room. This also seems to effect HOW MANY items you get from wide chests, ranging from 1-4 items.
- Precision: As was stated, this is the auto aim. When you aim at an enemy, if its within your diamond, you will see a white dot on where you're going to hit the enemy. On small bats, you can AIM at their wing, but its unlikely to hit. The higher the precision stat, the more likely you are to land a damaging hit, especially at range. The Auto-aim goggles make this almost guaranteed hit, though its more difficult to land crits with that item, IMO.
- Range: It effects where your damage falloff starts, and how far away you can hit an enemy. if its Just out of range, your reticle will display "too far"
- Speed, this effects your base movement speed. you can exceed what your max speed is with various items such as the roller skates, which multiply movement speed based on hit multiplier. You can get some crazy speeds going.
- clip size: not tracked by holding tab, but it carries over to each new weapon adding a shot onto the base clip size of the gun.
- Hit Points: your hp increases by 25 points with each heart container up to a max of 400(?) And you can have armor on top of that. I hit 425 once, but i think it was a glitch. Ive been unable to do so again.
I hope this helps :DDo you have a source on this? I've seen so many conflicting reports on what the stats actually do that I have trouble sorting fact from fiction.

Also what have you seen conflicting? :D
The link above provided by Dimax-men links to the wiki which was my main source for a while. Simple things like damage and speed are fairly consistent between sources, but things like precision and luck and range tend to be a bit more up in the air.
