The Dish of coins

So... I finally blasted my way to victory in easy mode and it was a real treat...
But just before I killed the proverbial bull... there was a room with a giant dish that allowed me to put coins in it. I dumped over 50 coins but nothing happened.
I'm guessing it needs more...
But I'm too lazy to go through all of that again...
Does anybody feel like dropping the spoiler, and telling me what the Dish does?

Once you get to 90 or 100 coins, I don't remember the exact number, an item will appear.
It's weird, I don't know if it's the same for all but I got a pair of boots that does percentage damage. I can't throw in any more coins in any new run and they're always there for me to take.

I can confirm it's 100

and I got the same boots when filling it up too

It was the giant slayer boots for me, I assume that's what everyone else got, it makes sense to get those right before the final boss, seeing as they are at their most powerful when used on him.
