I like the beats & rythm better in BPM. Also feels more soothing for my ears.
For me it's the other way around, i like more the heavy metal of Hellsinger. But its nice we getting 2 similar games, but for different tastes.
At least Hellsinger has real bands. Not royalty free epic rock song #43-100
Eh, let the final results speak for itself when both full products comes out, maybe it'll be good pioneer for more FPS indies to take notes. MAYBE we'll like both of them.

BPM was announced before this game.
Damn karens who cares which was announced first.. :steamfacepalm:

Watched videos for both and have to say music in Metal Hellslinger is more to my liking. It's actual metal not the synthesizer metal in bpm. Graphics seem better as well.

Will give both a try but I think I will enjoy Metal Hellsinger more.
I'm a pretty small indie dev and last october I released a trailer for a rhythm game FPS called Beat Down Revolution

This was 6 months before either of these games were announced. I'm just one person, so obviously the quality level isn't that of a studio, but still, it's pretty disheartening to see.

You do realise this is not a so unique concept and others can think of it as well? Even if they saw your project and got inspired, what is exactly wrong with it?

No asset flips though

No asset flips though

I see you posting all over this discussion trying to ♥♥♥♥ on the game.
This game is not an asset flip, as the devs actually use the assets in a unique and new way implementing them in a setting far from the original assets' purpose.

There is no shame in re-using assets or even using free assets, especially if it's a dev team with literally no money to pay for original assets - and thats okay.

They created a great game with a new concept which coincidentally uses free assets to focus more on the game itself rather than wasting time and money making assets which would not change the core gameplay experience in any way whatsoever.

Actual asset flips dont even invest any thought into being anything original, they just slap together cheap components in a non-coherent and unoriginal way to make a quick buck.

This game here is the absolute opposite of an asset flip and shows the good and intended use of free assets.

Free assets are the saviour for small devs and teams that simply either lack the artistic skill or money to create custom original assets.

Could you elaborate why you hate that this game is using paragon assets? Is it because you wanted paragon to succeed and hate seeing those assets being used here? Is it actual concern that the devs are trying to scam us?
Im personally just excited to see this game come out and am kindof baffled how this game gets so much dislike for something so completely irrelevant to the gameplay.

Because the use of pre-made assets implies a shorter development time, I showed this off at PAX last year and, yeah, if they went there, saw my game, then went and decided to essentially take the idea, I'd be a little upset. I worked hard on that game (I'm usually vehemently against using pre-made assets), and yeah it can be a little tough to see everyone praising this as a new and original idea when it's not even completely original.
The bad part about Hellsinger is the guy who was involved with the Payday series is involved with Hellsinger too. He's a hateful, wanna be Eminem type and he is in constant dbag mood.

I think this game will be better.

Welcome to the world of market competition.
If someone else can produce the same thing faster and better than you, it sure is a shame, but they technically won, and thats good.

Without this, one could simply say "this idea is mine and noone is allowed to attempt to do it better" and would put that concept into a deadlock of quality. Thats why monopolies suck, because without competitive drive there is barely any innovation.

Even if they saw your game, which is probably not even the case, you can do nothing about it as what this game does is obviously different from what your game does.

Sure you could dumb it down but then we can start throwing all games of similar genre into a single pile.
