Last boss unavoidable attack
Looking 4 help/tips:

Trying to kill last boss with Odr, but he always gets me with a single fire ball that seems to be hit-scan (ish?). From countless clears on all other classes, I've gathered it can happen randomly in the first 50% phase, or (most often) shortly after the 50% mark when he hits the ground, and shoots a barrage of (dodge-able) fire balls.

I've tried going super high, super long range, mid height, low height, constant non-stop circle firing, nuking him as fast as possible, and many other combos of the above. Yet the same attack gets me no matter what.

Is the freeze glyph a must?

Thanks in advance!

Maybe not the topic but is it the big "Aoe" bubble that gets bigger?
If not how does one avoid that one cause i cant figure it out

There's a dodge indicator for that fireball attack, although I've found that sometimes the indicator does not appear or is incredibly difficult to see whenever there's an expanding bubble around.

Someone thought it was a good idea to have the bubble be white when expanding, I can't see the beat indicators unless I look at the ground.

Grab the BFG looking gun, get the adventures fedore

( this will alow you to equip multiple shield items )

then grab the extra life shield, double damage, strike to the beat to help you get to the final boss, and then replace adventures fedora with whatever later. Obviously dont forget to level up your stats.

Okay, it's attacks.
If it's red, it can be avoided during a half beat, as it only attacks on the main beat.
it it's white, go around, it's a Half Unavoidable bubble.

Practice makes perfect.

When the bubble expands it does dmg, when its still you can go through it without taking dmg

Sorry for any confusion on this.

So, it's actually not the red bubble/shield or white half bubble/shield that's the issue (I can avoid those), it's a single fireball attack he shoots from his mouth. It sometimes (rarely) will happen during the first 50% while in the air, but most often happens directly following the attack that's a barrage of 10-12 fireballs. I get no warning to dodge, and although it's not hit-scan, it seems to be unavoidable. Also, I think this attack may only happens on Hard difficulty.

So after reading:

I realized that I had never tried incorporating the Fedora, and had a great run the other day where I found one and had the following at last boss fight: Infinite Ammo, Double Damage, Rotating Barrel Revolver, Cleaving, Explosive Helm, and Frost Bolt. Got last boss to 15% or so, but stupidly died.

It seems that using the Fedora to get that last layer of extra damage with a 2nd shield burns his HP fast enough to prevent him from using the attack that had been killing me. Still trying to get another Odr run as good as the last one described above, so not 100% sure if this is a legit strat...
