Also, try seeing some items that help in the long run, Double Damage and Double Shot with Explosive Rounds work wonders.
Its trail and error man, it took me 3 attempts to beat the first boss my first try.
The souls comment is overrated imo.
and as for the boss of the levels, i find a good approach is to just melt them with all out firing.
Beat the first one with face shot spam while dodging left/right and focusing on shooting, and the little minigame where he shakes to one side make sure to dodge the other way
It takes about 30 40 min to beat Draugr, 2-3 hours to beat Final Boss, plus 6 hours to finish game on hard. More hours of gameplay = better skill (evoiding and shooting) and better equipment. You buy items and guns = better loyality of traders = better items for trade. Find your lucky build by playing different combinations. Better build = faster win. Sometimes its better to take infinite ammo. Sometimes its bad choice. For example, guns and pistols with high damage and big reload time need infinite ammo to spam huge damage without reloading. But fast pistols and guns with low damage need maximum items with damage bonus and/or healing effect. Etc.
Guns also have different patterns. Maybe you just didnt find weapon that you would like. I cant use shotguns. Some BFG is too hard for me. But simple revolver and same pistols with high damage over shot and difficult reloading pattern are best for my playing style. Bigger gun is not always better FOR YOU. Some combinations of skills and weapons also have incredibly high effectiveness. For example, slow BFG for bosses and big enemies plus AOE skill for little mobs.
Try your own and good luck)
you can take it easy once there's only one enemy left, practice hitting heads and weakspots. most humanoid enemies can be headshotted, and the glowy bits of other creatures are usually their weakspots. A metallic hit sound marks that your shot was a critical hit. I've found that the clockwork soul thing that shoots three bullets have a circular core on its torso that kills it instantly when shot. oh the gains of grinding hellish sanngritr
Some tips for Draugr.
1) Unless he has certain mods, touching him does not hurt you. So don't be afraid to get close to him. This can definitely make things easier
2) Always strafe L or R (a tip from the developer FAQ thread). If you are always moving sideways it makes you almost impossible to hit with his normal projectile attacks.
3) Pay very close attention when he does his "half room" attack. If you see he is attacking right, immediately begin to move left. Once the attack goes off, immediately start moving right (as the attacks always alternate), keep doing this until he stops. As long as you start moving immediately, and don't stop moving L/R you will never get hit. Also, you want to try to be shooting him the entire time you are strafing.
But those base guns, christ. Also unlocking basic character stuff lol. Dunno if they ever fired a pistol for how short range Goll's starter gun is lol
