Yes indeed, looks like they used a few other assets from Paragon as well.

Which works, those assets aren't being used anymore and they were good, glad they are being recycled, though I wish they would add some physics to the first bosses sleeves, looks so awkward when he does his side to side dodge attack. Here's hoping!

A lot of the assets are from paragon, serath, narbash, sevarog, twinblast are all in the trailer but slightly tweaked visually.

The whole game is an asset flip. Not just paragon. The mob enemies are also from the unreal market place and the textures for the dungeons you can literally download for free there too.

It's not an "Asset Flip". Asset flips tend to be scam games that are made with 0 effort or care to make a quick buck. Yes the game uses a lot of Assets but the entire point of Assets is that they allow smaller teams who may not have as much modelling or art experience to legally have high quality models and so on. They still need to be implemented properly and even then it's still about how they are used; but it really is no different from outsourcing your art asset, at the end of the day someone has to make them and if you can use them legally and it works for your purposes there's nothing wrong with that.

Asset flippers have given a bad name to something that, under the right usage, is completely fine. Paragon's assets don't have synced rhythm AI, they don't just by default do the attacks and so on that they do in this, and to make a game like this work takes way more than just slapping some things in a store and calling it a day; this game has clearly had the effort and care put in. Yes, it uses Unreal engine assets, but that is literally why those assets exist in the first place.

This is very well said. Assets are a tool, and like all tools (game "engines" like Unity and Unreal) They can be lazily used to make a shoddy product and sold for a quick buck. From what I can tell, there is legitimate effort and care put into the gameplay, shooting feels good, and rhythm actually matters.

If you want to play an actually good Paragon remake, play Overprime. It's completely free, but it's not on Steam yet, you have to download it from their website.
They also said a huge update is coming within the next 2 weeks and will focus on bringing the game to Steam after that.

Overprime? Sounds like they are gonna make another developer a bit salty since there's already a remake in beta on Steam. I really wanted Paragon to continue existing, so I am happy to have options like these in the future, but I hope it doesn't cause problems for the devs.

Seeing how heavily the assets have been altered this is definitely not an asset flip. These devs used the unreal market place the way it was meant to.
