Memory Leak Fix Priority
I suggest the memory leak issue is fixed as a top priority over Save Game function or others.

Currently, long missions or missions with an aircraft carrier or more than a bunch of units causes game to lag badly despite time increased to x3.

Dev Here!

I would like to ask some clarifying questions here. Going to move this topic to the bug channel if I can..
  • How many units are present in the missions your playing?
  • How long has the session been played for?
  • What are your system specs?
Also, please be aware increasing time compression always will come with a cost, which is increased the more the time compression is turned up.

1. I believe any mission with an aircraft carrier or small US airbase (mod) where more than 10 aircrafts are launched, you start noticing lags. Example standard mission is Strawberries Can Kill and first 3 missions in Cold Resolve. Note all these missions use an aircraft carrier.

2. When mission goes on for over 2-3 hrs, you can also notice lags. Note these missions typically have an aircraft carrier of the Small US Base mod.

3. I'm running on i5-9600KF with 16GB RAM and GTX 3060 12GB.

Do you not recommend increasing time compression when game lags?

Cheers.

Edit: When game lags, CPU usage is below 65-70% but RAM is 85%.

Increasing time compression will generally reduce your FPS. So it's advisable to stay to 1x if possible. Do you also get the same lag over time without mods?

I haven't played game without mods. Yesterday I posted on Discord and found aircrafts landing and launching same time on Nimitz NTU will cause infinite holds on all aircrafts.

Also observerd if TF has more than 7 units and they launch missiles on surface and land units same time, this also creates lag.

I shall try not to compress time if possible except some missions run over 3 hours, and cause game to freeze on exit.

Hello! I'm using only Air Deck ops upgrade mod and still have the same issue with memory leak. Even when quitting scenario to main menu, game still uses 80-95% of RAM in main menu after more than an hour scenario
There is definitely an issue with it, hope you guys know it and work on a fix

I believe aircraft carriers are not designed to have all 4 lifts operating same time as this causes memory leaks or lags when you have too many aircrafts and missiles in the air. If you use the NTU Nimitz 89, this will prevents 2 lifts operating allowing aircrafts to land before new ones can take off - restricting the number of aircrafts in the air. More units operating = lag and memory leaks.

Yeah, time compression is not the issue here. For instance, trying the escalation Grenada workshop mod I can launch 20-25 planes go 100x for them to get into position and it's fine. Come an hour later/hour an a half later, 10x is progressing time at almost the same rate as 1x. I have an i7 12700KF 3.6ghz 16gb ram and a 3080
