Sea Power

Sea Power

Mods not working?
What am I missing? Is there an order I need to load them in. Whenever I try to load a mod scenario I get incompatible mods and then the damn thing never loads.

Just got to wait for modders to update their stuff sadly.
every update breaks the mods I have found

Use New Threat Upgrade and Pact Enhanced Lethality mods. They work. Anchor Chain and Sea Lifter are simply a nightmare to use and you have to roll back to an older vesrion of Sea Power to use them. So sad to have such lazy modders.

Calling people who make mods in their spare time for others to use for free "lazy" is pretty disrespectful!

Anchor chain and Sealifter are not nightmares. They just require some very lite reading and then placed at top of mod list. It's not hard, many are just assuming its download and done. YOU MUST HIT IGNORE ON THE CAUTIONARY INCOMPATABILITY STATEMENT that will pop up about Anchor Chain.

To OP, read my reply on Anchor Chain and check the link on AC. It is simple and a requirement for most mods, including PELT and NTU.

Also, do not assume all mods can be enabled without causing a CTD. Read the specific mods for what is needed to operate, then disable other mods till needed.

:steamthis: This. Thank you.
Same as op. Reinstalled, never got past the mod reloading stage. Unsubbed to mods, added some back. Game crashes every single mission when I hit play.
it sounds like your mods dont work, try playing the game without mods and add them one at a time to see which one is causing problems

Unfortunately there's no quick solution. It could be anyone of your mods or scenarios that is causing the CTD. I have literally spent days at times, combing through my 8 pages of add ons.

I'll hopefully spare you some time by suggesting the following:

1. Uninstall all, including the base game. You might want to delete the folder as well.

2. Reinstall just base game. Play a few scenarios to ensure you don't have a hardware CTD.

3. Re-install Anchor Chain per the instructions, and Sealifter. These should always be #2 and #3 in your mod manager. Play your base game with just these 2. If no CTD, and 1 mod at a time and play a scenario. Please note, you will receive an incompatibility statement about Anchor Chain. You must hit IGNORE. If you have other mods listed in the statement, those can be your culprits contributing to a CTD, not Anchor Chain.

4. Although step 3 is tedious, it is a necessary evil because there are naming convention conflicts possible with a particular weapon or hull that can cause a CTD or the .ini files not updated per latest game base release.

5. Use/enable only the mods needed in the scenario description. Disable all others until needed. This is key to preventing CTDs from step 4. You can subscribe to any and all mods you desire in the Steam workshop, just enable/ disable as required. This will allow mods to get updated in your library.

A final note. The modders that freely give their time to making this game even greater, do so voluntarily. I am grateful for their contributions. However, not all mods are compatible with others, so just use what you need, as needed.
How can you unsubscribe to mods when I cant even get the game to load to unsubscribe? It freezes up 30 seconds into.....

Maybe uninstall and reinstall? You could also try verifying file integrity first before uninstalling.

unsubscribe, on steam, through the workshop
not DISABLE the mods, i mean UNSUBSCRIBE to them, the difference is very important here, given one of your mods is causing issues before you can even get to the mod manager

Thanks, did steps 1 & 2 and it worked....time for mods.
I read somewhere, and so far it works, that mod list order is important. Top, is Sealifter and Anchorchain, then NTU, and PACT mods, followed by aircraft, then land units, then ships and subs, then scenarios.

That is indeed accurate. However, I think the next release is imminent and will break the mods again.

On a good note though, I saw a note on Sealifter that it will no longer be needed after the update. Hoping Anchor Chain also goes by way of the Dodo bird.
