Loading lots of mission mods makes the menu/game choppy
Hello all,

To those who have performance issues I realised the more mission i activate through mod manager, the more the game becomes choppy/laggy.

The only "data change" mod I have is the better damage one, so this is not the cause (working fine with only this one and few mission).

I would suggest if you have performance issues to de-activate a mission once you played it, and activate only the ones you plan to play in the short term.

It turned out to improve performances and responsiveness for me.

BTM Playing latest open beta build.

Interested to know if this has helped other people / if you see same behavior

Yes I ran into this last night as well and did the same thing. The choppiness went away.

How many mods have you installed when you notice stutters in game?

I think I had one "content change" mode (realistic damage) and about 40 to 50 mission mods

That's a lot of mods lol

Actually missions should not be considered mods, that's all. They are all but mission files somewhere, and shouldn't go on the game recalculating how it should behave because you added new missions.

I mean makes sense for modification mods, but not for missions.
First time I see a game managing it this way, and being an IT guy myself I quite understand how it can make things chuggy, and think it's a terrible way of doing it.
I guess It'll all improve for the best :)

Agree, have you been able to load/edit/save mission mods downloaded from Steam workshop in Mission Editor (not your own missions)?
Thankyou, had a fair few, including brother monros missions, aus navy, rn navies, other mods. Choppieness has gone.

I managed to resolve lags or memory leaks by increasing to 32GB memory.
I have 32 megs of RAM and I have noticed that adding more workshop missions definitely increases lag and undoubtedly drops frame rates.
It seems to make no sense at all but this is definitely a thing right now in this game state.

I realized having too many missions from the workshop increase loading times even tho, you aint using them, having them enabled eats away quite some ram and the loading time also increases a bit especially if you are using whole packs of missions.

For those still doubting unsub all the workshop missions but one and try it, you'll see how much of a changer this is
