The uboat game which covers the operational theatre of mainly the Atlantic, with some Barents sea and Mediterranean sea has a time compression feature of something like 50,000 not a totally impracticable 100, which is reduced to times 30 the majority of the time anyway!..this is useless, unless a player if fine with doing literally nothing of half a day or more in realtime!
I totally echo thi, i came onto ask what experience players have had with this mission, because for my money, literally no work or development has been placed on it...it simply does not work,, and the waiting times are totally ridiculous anyway..
This needs addressing and then some, it should be priority given the unplayable state it's in. right now it's ridiculous.
It was mind numbingly boring sitting for hours at 100x time compression doing absolutely nothing except occasionally waiting for it to speed back up from 30x because an airplane was in the same hemisphere as you.
A lot of submarine missions are going to be pretty boring because there really isn't a lot to do if you're trying to be stealthy. You can slide under Bermuda and avoid most of the ASW patrols for that mission while travelling very deep and all ahead flank and never get caught.
Right and the "point of this is?,,, So we literally just stare at a screen doing virtually nothing for what 4 hours ? 6 hours? longer maybe, and then you are saying the mission is over not even graphically representing to weapons launching?, you realize how absolutely paint watchingly mundane and pointless and mind nummingly boring this is?...If it doesn't work then don't pretend it does, that's my point.
TBH as soon as i noticed there was no periscope i had a very good idea that this whole submarime area of the game was persona non gratis.
I understand that is EA, but the quality of the missions shouldn't be THAT low
The mission editor and so forth, as they stand today are probably not long for this world... It's basically a vertical slice, minimum viable product, proof of concept... whatever you want to call it but it is my understanding that a lot of attention has shifted toward the mission editor and ai side of things.
Outside of a few scenarios, they probably would have been better off just having an instant action button instead. People see the titles of scenarios "OOOOH CRIMSON TIDE" and go in with at least some expectations and in the end it's basically just instant action anyways.
The no visible launch area is quite absurd and has to be an oversight which they really should fix in some hotfix patch since it could be fixed in 5 seconds or so.
I don't mind realistic sub missions but you need to be rewarded for your time spent.
