This^ The Commander does not tell every fighter when to turn nor every helicopter where to drop the buoy. They are assigned a patrol zone and handle the small stuff on their own. It's my fault if I forget to deploy them. It's their fault if they don't do their mission.
Even a simple "Draw a box" area would work. Automation makes sense. The commander is not every pilot and every gunner.
Dragable Rally Points and Air Stations like in Fleet Command would be also great.
Try Ctrl+RClick and Alt+RClick.
But he, the TFC, will order where he wants them to patrol. We should be able to click zones in the formation editor and instruct the CAG to set patrols in those zones. I wanted to have my destoryers helo patrol an arc in front of the formation as the formation moved but all I could do was set waypoints. Do I have to set every dipping zonar waypoint and how do I make them stop and drop? If I do send him to a waypoint how big an area does he patrol?
i use Ctrl-Rclick alot. What does alt do? thx!
No it is not.
And it's not even close.
It's pretty, definitely pretty. But if you're trying to compare the fidelity of the two ... that's a joke. Maybe someday, I hope someday. But they have... a literal metric f-tonne of work to even begin to make comparisons.
Under 10 children's league versus professional all-pro team. It really is night and day.
Read what I replied to. I made no mention of fidelity, realism, depth of simulation, or anything of the sort. Command level (i.e. you should be setting a CAP position, not manually flying them to it and controlling them the whole time).
This game could be as complex like you said, but I am in no way saying it is right now.
