Anti sub torpedoes not working
Does anyone have any advice regarding using anti sub torpedoes? Because for me most of the time, they don’t hit their target at all. They only approach the target before going in a circle nonstop. I’ve seen torpedoes just continuously circle when the enemy sub I’m targeting is literally in sight (and yes, within the search cone of the torpedo passive/active sonar). This is mostly common with ship launched and sub launched torps, though air dropped torps sometimes do this too.

The worst torps are the USET-80s. Against surface ships they work just fine, but against subs? Good luck. I’ve had a submarine hit THEMSELF with these torps more than I’ve hit an enemy sub.

Any advice is appreciated.

The only experience I’ve had with the MK 46 is dropping them from sea sprites and they’ve worked fine for me there. But it’s a shame the circle issue is affecting these torps too.

Same here, torps vs submarines do not work at all.
I've wondered if it is a bug? The Mk46's used to be fairly reliable, But I've dropped 4, yes 4, the sub in question had it coming, but alas not only did the sub, A foxtrot, live, it did so within half a mile from the mk46's which were circling nothing. The sub also put out a staggering amount of noisemakers, like 12 in just over a minute.
I love it when a Mk 46 is inches away from a sub and then suddenly veers off. Apparently it "found" a better target elsewhere. Yeah I get that noisemakers are a thing but come on!

We've both mentioned this in other posts. I hope they hurry up and correct this soon because until they do such a massive portion of the game is near unplayable. No point in ASW stuff now unless you send an excessive amount of torps after one damn target.
Torps are bugged period. Engaged a surface target with a Mk 48 in one of the Pacific Strike '85 missions and it just ran in circles a quarter mile from the target until it ran out of juice.

I see. I do hope that this bug is fixed soon as well. A good few of the missions I’m building at present have submarines to hunt.

On a different note, I have also noticed a different bug regarding the slava’s SSN-12 missiles in particular. They don’t do proper terminal guidance, so they’ll NYOOOM over the intended target before splashing in the water behind it.

I have a feeling since the holidays are over along with the fact that they tend to acknowledge feedback we'll be seeing some fairly large patches coming up soon. At least I hope so.

I haven't looked at the Soviet missiles but TASM's are borked, Any target you fire them at that is under 100NM will make the TASM go active less than 10NM from the firing ship, they seem to go active 100NM from whatever you fired them at.
This is definitely not working as intended. Got a great view of a mk46 doing circles around a dead-in-the-water Charlie I yesterday. Also several misses where the mk46 approaches abeam the sub and veers off. It seems that a mk46 drop directly behind the sub reduces the error but not 100%.
