B. Developers have said that the game isn't coded to do stealth.
C. Modding is always possible, at some point.
The B-2 was in service in the 80s!
Agreed on the B-2 or F-117 (which is really just a bomber, just because it carries a sidewinder AIM-9 doesn't make it a fighter. Under those terms the Apache Helicopter is a fighter as well, it carries AIM-9s for self defense!)
Does the game include the SU-24 Fencer?
What about the SU-25 Frogfoot? If the Frogfoot is in the game, then the A-10 should be as well. It was built specifically during the time-frame (how would they implement it's inherent toughness versus AAA?)
The game is focused on sea power, the F-111 is a land-based aircraft and there are already plenty of U.S. land-based options in the game for an Alpha release.
The B-2 didn't enter Initial Operational Capability until April 1997. It was revealed to the world in 1989, which is still outside the scope of the game, like NTU.
The Fencer is in the game, and there's also a mod that adds it to the Orel.
The Frogfoot would be a good addition to the game, we'll probably see it somewhere down the line, after the Alpha version.
F-117 never had or equipped to carry sidewinder, bomb truck only. The idea to have the option would have been cool in shooting down AWACS but never had them nor the mission to do so.
Personally not a big fan of a stealth mechanic in game, but like the idea of radar avoidance.
RESPONSE>>>
The F-111B was designed as a fleet air defense (FAD) fighter for the U.S. Navy, intended to defend carriers from enemy bombers.
One F-111B (BuNo 151974) underwent carrier operations, including arrested landings and catapult launches, on the USS Coral Sea in July 1968.
In summary, the F-111B, though not adopted for fleet service, did undergo carrier trials on the USS Coral Sea in 1968, marking a significant point in the F-111B's history.
Generative AI is experimental.
From what I remember the F-111 was about the same size as the F-14 Tomcat
But I always remember the F-111 was a bomb truck, and the variant EF-111 Raven was supposed to do Wild Weasel SEAD.
I saw one once at Hill AFB, UT. It was going out to the Wildcat Test Range. It had 4x HARM missiles on under wing pylons.
Would love to see the HARM added to the game!
The problem is that RCS is coded as a "size", like you see "small" or "large". This is mapped to a numeric value, but it is fixed to the size category. So you can't really set the RCS for one unit and also not for specif radar bands iirc.
But who knows what will be possible in the end or after 1.0.
