so is it me or dose landing aircraft on a carrier seem to take forever like 5+ minuets between landings with 10 + plains in the holding pattern. or am I screwing up somewhere

It's bad right now but you can try the various Carrier Full Capability mods by Rileysrogues. Solves the issue in the meantime.

Took mine 6 minutes each today, so almost 3 hours to recover 30 acft, There should be 4 acft in the pattern 1 in each leg if launching isn't stacked at different altitudes. Then if launches occur, you should have an acft in downwind and base during the launch and acft ready to enter the downwind from holding.
