So, we can walk and chew gum...lol
Torpedo in the water!
All calculations were made using the International System, thus metric.
Except you are wrong...
Burns were FPS.
Fuel flow was LBS per hour.
Weight was in pounds.
Many temperatures were degrees F.
Altitude was initially in feet.
Pressure was in PSI.
GTF Outa here.
But I do agree here.
Lets do distance in NM.
Lets do altitude in feet.
Lets do speed in knots.
I mean, NM and knots go hand in hand.
I think learning to convert measurements in the head is the easiest solution. I know that 1nm is 1.82km. About 3 feet to a metre (37000 feet is roughly 10km) and KTS is simple as hell to figure once you have NM worked out.
Less complaining, metric (canadian) friends. (canada is about to become an american state anyway. Start learning freedom measurements now. Save time... :)
Like you said...
Knots
NM
Altitudes (both air and depth) feet.
Please explain how the decimal system is inferior with whole numbers? As a licensed and experienced long range radio operator, I also question your claim that imperial is easier to understand over the radio. That is rubbish.
Do you have any other reasons? The majority of the world disagrees with you...
