Ship Lights
Will the lights of the Ships be redone before final release, or can it be done by modding?
I really like the look of the game, but what i can't stand are the lights of the Ships when Helicopter are landing. The Ship is completly dark, the helicopter is dark, but the Helicopterdeck is lightning up like a christmas tree, with dozens of blinking lights, it looks bad and from what i saw, completly unrealistic, pretty sure Pilots would have a Problem landing with so many blinking lights on a moving surface.

They blink so the pilots can actually see the movement of the platform they are landing on, this is from a time before NVGs were really commonly available so if you want to land in the dark you need lights.

Yes you need lights, but the lights wouldn't blink, the movement of a steady light is much easier to see then the one of a blinking light.

They do blink in real life

What lights are blinking in real life?
The Positionlights on a Heli Platform aren't blinking. It's way harder to obvserve the movement of a blinking light, compared to a stady one.

Edit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tt9oCaLCO0E Time 2:09:09 in real life, lights do not blink like that.

Have you compared your Video to the Carrier in the Game?

All flight deck lighting is not constant, you can find examples of this if you look online.
SP has also generalised the lighting for early and later generation carriers to look the same. Maybe a little overdone. I do like how lighting is directional. also be nice to see some aircraft lighting

I imagine also trying to find sources of all the dif changes for dif generation carriers is not easy.

It does not bother me that much , its a simulation not a simulator.

(And the flight deck lights in SP vary in intensity they do not blink as indicated in the OP)

Here is an example from a post cold war carrier you can see lighting is not all constant. Shows both takeoff and landing Aircraft.

@Stix_09
The Lights on the Back of a carrier the Pilot uses to determine his Position to the one of the Carrier aren't blinking, same for the Lights on/around the Helidecks, in Sea Power they do.
I don't need the perfect lightning the carriers have in reality, i want some reality and not have lights blinking, that make no sense blinking.
And if the Developers do not want to do it, then maybe give us who want it, the Option to mod it.

I believe it's editable, need to find where it is
Would be great, but i don't see a way doing it with .ini modding and testing it via anchorchain/Sealifter is a way i don't want to spend the time on.

You can remove them but at present I don't think u can edit them (unless u do some unity hacking), its same asset for all the carriers.

The USN documentation itself clearly states the lineup lights are sequentially flashed.
And now compare that to the lights in Game.
Also for for "The USN documentation itself clearly states the lineup lights are sequentially flashed." - do you mean this
"(6) Flash sequencer - Provides the capability of sequentially flashing every deck-installed landing lineup light and alternate lights in the forward extended lineup light bar."?
I don't read there that they do, but that they can.

The very first figure states:

18 Landing Lineup Lights
19 Sequentially Flashed Lineup Lights

The lights on the decks are clearly sequentially flashed, except for the drop light bars which do not.
They can flash those lights, doesn't mean that they constantly do, or do it like they do it in the game and then there are still the other flashing lights, that do not match.
And even if they want to keep it and you want to keep it, make it moddable.
