Formations controls
Orders and group management handle very tediously
  • Issuing an order to attack a target seems to be on unit basis rather than a group basis. . The best example of this was when I asked what I thought was a group of tomcats to intercept a group of foxbats only to see the flight leader run in alone whilst the rest continued on.

  • Patterns and ship formation editing doesn't always apply (well). I asked a flight group to form in essentially a left hand finger four. The 1 and 2 did so fine at 30k ft and then 3 flew at 50k ft and the 4 at 100ft. Similarly ships have a really hard time pathing to their spots in a formation if you modify it.

  • Engagement rules are tied to the Air defense rules . There's no option to specifically management weapon usage vs units. if I want my fleet to conserve large caliber/missile ammo but shoot down/decoy any missile targeting the group there's no option to specifically manage that.

And then there's the issue posted in the a previous discussion of units randomly leaving/joining groups.

Аlso giving an order to a helicopter or aircraft that has not yet taken off, for example setting a waypoint, will lead to the creation of a carrier waypoint

Also you can’t tell them to move to a waypoint because bugged

So I haven't had an issue there, I tend to double click them when they appear on the formation manager as they are on launchpad/catapult and issue the orders. It works "fine" until you issue combat orders :steamsad:

Addition to the issues I've mentioned the RTB function messes up the launch deck. The game doesn't seem to know what to prioritize: RTB planes/helis will loiter basically forever whilst those taking off never do.
