Apart from that this is set in the 60-80s only whereas CMO covers all eras from 30s to near future. CMOs real strength is in portraying present day fantasy conflicts such as a modern Korean War, China and Taiwan, The Spratly Islands, Middle East etc and showcasing modern technology.
For modern games about missile naval combat, pretty much the option available is CMO. Which means that you have to deal with the high micro, obtuse UI, and a dev team with an ego bigger than the state of Texas.
When Sea Power comes out, it will allow people who want to play missile naval combat to have another, better option.
I do NOT expect Sea Power to be a CMO level sim. That is fine and I like a lighter sim anyway.
Hope this clarifies my comments.
With regards to Bob's comments about CMO and the developers, I feel you've obviously come across to them in the wrong way, as that development team and the forum contributors bend over backwards to accommodate, unless you come in very combative.
Very much looking forward to this upcoming release.
It's less the dev team as a whole and more the community manager, Dimitris. He meets any sign of criticism about his game, good faith or not, with hostility, no matter where it is. I came across him on r/NCD of all places, arguing away in every single comment thread of a post using the game. I've also had friends who've seen him spam pinging Discord servers to advertise CMO.
I'm very much looking forward to this game as well, so I can play a missile naval warfare game which doesn't have developers who insult users at a drop of a hat.
