How to beat dettlaff/overwhelming hunger combo?

I honestly dont think ive ever been able to beat this combo, I dont remember the exact numbers but from the 1 dettlaff card and all 3 charges I want to say you can get like 21 points worth, which seems massively higher than any other ability can manage. I know you can banish him but that only helps if they wait a turn to consume him (and banish cards are expensive), when usually they burn all 3 charges as soon as hes placed with preplanned devours.

Dont go for long R3 against consume monsters, unless you have either: 1)Yrden, or Igni techs.
2) A deck that has stupidly powerful engines such as Greatswords.
Otherwise you got to win R1 and bleed their pointslams in R2.
