Poison is the worst meta in the game.
That is all. It's just not fun.

You can also go wide, and tech bomb heaver. If playing against Double Ball push hard to win on round 1 and see if you can snag a win on round 2. Round 2 is akward for Double Ball because they need to recycle it, and it is a scenario that doesn't generate a lot of value until later in the round.
Regardless, I don't see poison meta sticking around for too long.

If you hate poison then just make decks that punish tall punish :monkeysnarl:
theres a card for all factions called the caretaker i think. its super good against poison because it can purify an alli every other turn.

I've stacked a couple of my decks with purify lately because agreeing with the OP.... poison just annoys me to no end, probably because I don't play the faction lol.

I'm that other kind of annoying player that mains monster with consume hahaha.

Play wide, not tall.

If playing SY or SK, use their respective Gold purifiers (Kalkstein and Gremist) to remove Poison tags as and when it is applied while defending them with Defenders.

If not playing SY or SK, use Caretaker.

All good suggestions, except you can't preemptively plan for what deck your playing against. You can hard-counter poison but then you weaken your deck to other playstyles and / or lose out on your own.

And that's part of the problem; to counter poison you need a deck which is tuned in a way to deal with it. There shouldn't be an effect in the game that punishes 90% of decks.

Until they destroy it outright with something else.

Poison... :steammocking: sounds like someone has never seen MO weather or old SY cheese :steamhappy: now those were the toxic days.
NG faction is worst in the game, no fun to play with or against.

Bomb heaver is good against a variety of decks. It's good against siege, any syndicate deck, skellige greatswords, elf swarm, consume monsters, imperial formation ball and ofc double ball.
No need to run Caretaker. If playing NG, use Imperial Diviner, if SK, Gremist, if SY, Kalkstein, if MO, Queen of the Night, if ST Vrihedd Sappers, and if NR, Pellar. You should run purify anyway regardless of poison meta because it's good against defenders and locks, things you will see anyway regardless of meta, so you aren't really gimping your deck by teching these options.
If you don't want ro run that, just yeet that Ball out of our dimension by using Korathi.

All good suggestions, assuming you pull those cards.

Decree, Menno, Matta, all the tutors in the game. Besides, I wasn't suggesting that poison isn't annoying. Just not invincible.
And if you want full agency about yours and your opponents actions, you are in the wrong genre. I suggest playing Starcraft2 or AoE2 instead. You are bound to get RNG'd sometimes, tis the nature of the beast.

Consume does not counter poison. One can get the same value with fewer poisons if a poisoned unit is consumed. Consume can counter poison only when there is no more poison left.
