Probs to avoid the steam tax if i had to guess. and with steam being separate from an Arenanet account i dont think you can even buy from the site itself or through a keyshop. So if you want the content, then unfortunately you have to pay steam prices.

what ovdusk said, they just trying to avoid steam tax as much as possible. Thats one of the reasons why they didn't do any regional price too.

They just shot themselves in the foot. I'd been waiting for a couple of years just so I could play it on Steam, now with that price it'll be a hard pass.

Would expect a 10 year anniversary to be a celebration with some discounts to get people into a game who clearly are not going to get into the game otherwise considering they have not done so in the last 10 years.. to celebrate with full price and even old DLC still selling for a solid chunk is a shame, especially that the 0% discount.

The expansion without living world are $€10 less on the ArenaNet page. You can't get Living Worlds i believe via ANet/store. But for $€99 on main store page, you get all the expansions as top collectors editions and 4000 gems. So quite different it seems.

I played the game for a few months at launch 2012. I would like to start over a new here on Steam for some crazy reason And be able to use Steam wallet.

They're not far off though, as you only need 160 extra gems which is around 50 gold at current exchange rates. You could immediately spend 3200 gems to get Season 2, Season 3 and Season 4, then grab Season 5 once you have spare gold to get the final 160 gems.

While technically correct, the gems you miss are marginal.
Last I checked season 2 was 1280 gems while season 3, 4 and 5 were 960 gems, so you can buy season 2,3,4 right away. The 160 missing gems translate to about 50 gold, which you will have LONG LONG before you have completed the three seasons you bought right away.

I really don't understand why they not simply make a pack out of all 4 seasons for 4000 instead of 4160 gems, so this little difference would not have to be mentioned anymore.

It's in every faq and in countless threads. If you play on steam, ALL PURCHASES you make now or in the future have to be on steam. If you play on a regular account like everyone else for the last 10 years, all purchases now and in the future have to be through ArenaNet like in the last 10 years.

You either have an account with ArenaNet, or you have an account with Steam. It's your choice, but that choice is final and anything for that account can only be bought from the entity you have the account with.
