Any way to change server for free?

Im from SEA and i want to test my ping. Created a toon at NA, deleted the character to try EU, select world is grayed out. Logged out, logged back again, but was sent directly to character creation.

You get 1 free server transfer otherwise you can delete all characters on the account and it should let you transfer if not then you gotta pay

Nope. It says "Upgrade your account to change your home world. You will get one free world transfer upon upgrade." I already deleted my character and the "world selection" is still grayed out.

I assume that with the Steam release you can have a Steam account and an Arenanet account to log in with?

Nope, only steam account.

I mean you can play with Arenanet account so.. make one of those and play on that client.

no steam account and areanet account do not mix but every one plays on the same server NA or EU

They do not have to mix, he wants to try playing on a different server so why can he not make an ANet account, client and log into EU this time.

You don't need to change your server. It's all one giant mega server. No matter which server you choose, you'll end up on the same server as everyone else (EU - NA rules still apply though )

use the guides on how to play with arenanet account on steam install and create a smurf account on EU to test the ping

Hi I just installed and plan to play this game, I'm a sea player as well. Have you figured out which server has the lowest latency?

If you are really curious you could create 2 new steam accounts then put a gw2 account on each set to Na or Eu. Then check to see which had the best ping. Or pop for your playtime. Then set up your main gw2 account on your main steam account.

Gw2 accounts are free trial. You might have to set up more email accounts for steam, not sure.

Do NOT come to EU from SEA,
the server will be literally empty at your prime time.
NA is the server you're supposed to be on.

Definitely EU for me. 50ms less compare to NA.
