Humble Ore extractor placement locations
Hi all, I’m really struggling to figure out where to place my ore extractor for iridium and aluminum. I assumed they would both be somewhere in the lava biome as that’s where I’m finding iridium and even some aluminum in the cave. No matter where I place the extractor, it always displays iron as the ore.

I’ve been looking all over for help on where to place them so I was hoping maybe we could make a thread where people can put all the locations for ore extractors so that in the future anyone in the same boat as me can quickly reference it.

Thank you in advance!

From what I can tell, you will want 2 T1s and 2 T2s:

1 T1 in the Sulphur area,
1 T1 in the Bauxite area (the sandy bowl shaped area near the two hangars)
1 T2 in the Ice Cave for Uraninite
1 T2 near the landed ship near the volcano area for Obsidian

This will cover all of your needs; use T3 ore crushers to get Iridium/Uranium/Alloy from Uraninite, and use a T3 ore crusher to process the Bauxite into Aluminum.

For Osmium, there's more Osmium than you could possibly need just laying around in the ice caves, the underground, the area with the black stones, or ontop of the ramps in the ice caves.

Zeolites, you simply go into the huge hole that opens where the crashed rocket is. There's tons and tons of it down there.

There a many places for Osmium ore extractors up where the ice caves are. The Zeolite ore extractor can be place in the cave where all the zeolite and osmium loads on the ground.

So you’re mining for Bauxite and Uranite instead of the individual ores, that makes a lot of sense! That definitely changes where I would be trying to place my extractors.

Yeah, you gotta mine for bauxite and uraninite.

Thankfully, uraninite is quite common, and I usually see the T2 extractor half full of it.

Dump all that stuff in the T3 Ore Crusher and you'll end up with enough to fill a T2 Vehicle inventory and then some, and 2/3ds will be iridium, uranium, or alloy.

It's actually insane resource generation.

The Bauxite?

I'm thinking of trying to upgrade to a T2 extractor, but the T1 will only pull up 1-4 bauxite per full load.

Question: <Zeolites, you simply go into the huge hole that opens where the crashed rocket is. There's tons and tons of it down there.> No huge hole yet for me, does it open up later in the game? I am only at 158 MTI terraformed. Thanks!

Was wondering the same thing.

Hey, I went back at 330 MTi and it's open now and can go in the cave.

T3 sulphur at base asap.
T3 zeo very central
T3 obsidian mid range.
T3 oz very central - surface looting is never enough late game.
T3 Baux and Uraninite central asap
