Where is the Genetic Extractor?

I have insects. I can make frogs and fish. I can make the genetic synthesizer but it looks like I never got the genetic extractor? Am I missing something?

It will eventually unlock in the Tech-tree.

You need 52 kt total biomass to unlock it. You can check this by hovering the mouse pointer over the padlocks in the blueprint screen. It shows the names of the items and the requirements to unlock them. The only difficulty is to find the proper category, if you are looking for a specific item.

Once you have "pet" animals, you can "pet" them, and in return you get genetic traits.

I'm at 192 kt of biomass and it's just not here. I'm wondering if I need to unlock something? I'm in the mammal stage... I just don't see it on the tech tree. Is there a blueprint I need to find? Or is my game just bugged?

Your game is not bugged. The other poster read the wrong item. The thing you want doesn't unlock until 800t in the INSECT stage.

I'm at the infinity stage which is past the animal stage and the Genetic Extractor is not unlocked for me.

Do you have 800 tons of Insects Biomass (not Stage, not Terraformation Index, not total Biomass, specifically Insects Biomass)? If not, then that's why.

It's been my experience that no, they usually don't. (though I'm generally willing to give a pass when the thread gets to the multi-page stage)
