Larvas not spawning (Planet humble)
Ive gotten to the fish stage already and larvas are just not spawning for some reason

3) The beach is great because there's no vegetation on it so you can see them
4) Bauxite area is also good
5) I've observed that saving and logging back in can trigger them spawning if they aren't but this could just be my imagination

There are other locations where they spawn but those are very convenient if you don't have teleporters.

If you read some of the machine notes it tells you where to find them.

"machine notes" refers to the messages you can retrieve from robots. Several of them say something about not finding life on the surface. I've seen some suggestions to save, quit, and restart the game and they start spawning again, but since I hit late fish and into amphibian stage, I rarely see any larva anywhere... even on the beaches.

Don't forget that when you unlock 'ecosystem' machines, they create larva (including uncommon, rare, bee, most butterfly, & silkworm). Then go back to the beach for the Serena, Golden, and other super rare butterfly larva.

I just tried something today that seemed to help. When you go larva hunting, take a couple you already have from storage and drop them near water in the caverns or on the beach. They started spawning all over after that. Could be a timing fluke as I only did it once.

I have sometimes had issues getting larvae to spawn on the beach. I find if this happens, I save WHILE ON THE BEACH. Quit out of the game, and then log back in. The larvae return.

Also, if you're just looking for the basic larvae, the initial ice cave that has long rock pathways leading up spawn quite a few at the top of these paths. I built my base in the cave, so it's convenient for me to zip up to the area with the pieces of drone. It's wide and many larvae spawn there if you walk around a bit.
