What to do with larvae?

I made a bee larvae but I don't know what to do with it, I can't "use" it or anything. I thought maybe I needed a bee hive to use it with but reading the wiki, the beehive doesn't need anything, it just produces honey. The beehive is not unlocked anyway, my plant biomass is way too low.

You need it to make the beehive. Work on getting your plant biomass up to unlock. You use them also to make silk worms to make cloth and also to make butterflies.

You need bee larvae for the outdoor farms, bee hives and insect spreader rockets.
As with everything: If you do not immerdiately know what to do with it, it's best to keep a few in a small crate until you've unlocked the thing for which it is needed. Then you can immediately build the new thing.
