Autosave on exit
Game really needs it, thats must have feature and every game has it. There is no confirmation on exit and no autosave on exit, so if you saved long time ago game don't tell you about it and don't suggest you to save game before exiting, thats not good. There should be /save and exit/ or confirmation like /last save was ... ago, surely want to exit without save?/ or something like that

It is about habit. Just get in the habit of saving on a regular basis and then saving before exit.

Auto-save at least on exit is industry standard, every so many minutes is nice too.

Yea. If devs don't want to make autosave atleast they should make some kind of warning if you didnt save the game before exit

Kids these days lol, in my day there were no such thing as auto saves, you forget to manual save or power dies or brother trips over a cable, poof all gone.

Jokes aside (although it really was like that when I started gaming 30 some odd years ago) it's not really an industry standard, quite a few games have it, particularly those that are cross platform as it was a primarily a console phenomenon first it feels, but it's not universal.

It's not really a must have feature, the game doesn't need it, it doesn't affect the game at all. And no not every game has it. It's a nice to have and lots of people are used to it and will forget to save for long periods or when exiting the game.

That said, changing the 'exit' button to 'save and exit' or better adding it as a separate button incase you messed up and want to exit without saving, is very quick and easy.

You certainly don't want the game saving during a crash.

Can't be certain, but I do believe that there are autosaves. I had a single crash in my entire playthrough and when I loaded back in I only lost a few minutes of progress. I definitely didn't load into my active save but whether I got lucky and the hourly autosave was just moments before or whether it always autosaves when entering/existing buildings, I couldn't tell.

The game autosaves every 15 minutes, since 2021 according to the changelog. Not sure why all the top google results for this question are wrong.
