How to move thing?
I've put things in my base in silly places. How can I move them without destroying and rebuilding them?

You can't. You get all your materials back when you destroy them. So just rebuild where you want it.

You cannot. You have to destroy, you get all the components, and rebuild.

Damn that's a bit painful. I'm playing other similar games at the mo and I'm too used to rearranging and moving stuff around with ease.

It's more painful when you realize there's a construction setting on the multi-tool which seems to do nothing at all.

That's because you begin the game with only mining enabled and nothing else, before you make any chips.

That's what that "neutral state" is, it's mining-only. I can only imagine that at some point in development, that you had "Mining", "Building", "Deconstruction" and it used to be that you couldn't mine in Build Mode, but they were like "that's kinda stupid, we should let them mine in build mode, too".

IMO, you should be able to mine in decon mode as well, but you can't for some weird reason. Ah well.

When it comes down to it, the chip just lets you build by pressing Q. So the build setting does nothing, and should have been removed for a 1.0 release.

The Build Setting shows you a hammer icon to let you know you're in Build and not Deconstruct Mode.

It would be confusing if you started the game with the Hammer icon visible, which implies you can build, but you can't if you don't have the chip equipped (and/or if you accidentally unequipped the chip and then can't figure out why you can't build).
