The 'normal' game is still in Early Access, and still unfinished. Your attempts at terraforming will stop before the planet is completely terraformed. However, the developers are updating it every month or three, and each update has added new interesting features or a later stage in terraforming. Even unfinished, the game is a lot of fun.
After playing the prologue, thats what I did.
Its not a perfect game, its still in development.
But theres so much more to see in Early Access over the Demo.
If you like single player, collect and build (not so much 'survival')
and like to waste hours building, sorting, organizing and rebuilding, it can be very entertaining.
I've started five new games and have about 250 hours in it.
There are worse games out there for more money.
It is early access. The whole game needs "a bit of polish." It is fun, seems like the balance is mostly there, and is updated fairly often--especially since the devs are only a two person team. I restart my game often, and enjoy it every time.
But I can point out dozens of things which need work. If this is going to bother you, you might want to consider checking back in six months or so. Some people really "dig in" and get super involved, and then get upset when they find themselves stuck pushing against the missing content.
