I would love there to be even a basic log with timestamps you could look at.
I also think when you look at the build menu, it should show a number of objects built next to each item e.g. 2 x Tier 1 Aquarium. Or have a toggle to show that.
I've often realised after quite a while I have access to a new tier of something, and could have replaced them already.
Sometimes stuff will unlock in your build screen, but sometimes they will show up instead in the screen in the biolab or a craft station, either the regular one or the advanced one. So, check those and see if there's any new items listed.
The other screens that can tell you about your progress may not necessarily show you exactly what's unlocked, but they will show you a lot of that, so check the blueprint screen and the screen in the biodome too.
Between those and your main screens you can usually figure out quite easily just what's going on and exactly where your progression is. Hope this helps, happy terraforming! :-)
Do you remember what the name of the new blueprint was? The wiki would tell you where you can craft it.
Places to look:
* In the build menu. Particularly if it sounds like a machine or structure, the build menu is the place to look.
* In the autocrafter. Most items that are not machines or structures can be crafted in the autocrafter, but not all of them.
* In the Advanced Craft Station
* In the T2 Craft Station
* In the Biolab (although I think everything that can be crafted in the Biolab can be crafted in the autocrafter.)
I have not played lately so I dont know for sure myself which of the additions came through a chip.
