Microchip for explosives
Hello all,

I'm not sure exactly how far 'into' the game I am, but I'm on 1.15 billion Ti, and generating ~ 151k/s, so I assume sort of mid-way.

The issue I'm having is that I've absolutely gutted every wreck (~ 6 or 7, off the of my head) that I can find in the Map view, but I still haven't found the microchip for "explosives", and I have a large and growing number of beacons placed around the map for entrances blocked by rocks that require explosives.

There are a couple of interesting looking locations that I haven't explored thoroughly, but they're not actually wrecks (the underground mushroom river + warden's complex, and the rainbow caves), so I'm stumped!

There are one or two areas in wrecks I can't get at without a T2 Deconstructor, but I haven't found the chip for *that*, either.

Any insight would be much appreciated!

Have you search on the wreck in the volcanic region? Because it does have an entrance but it is well hidden at the level of the cockpit

Yep! The one with lots of obsidian nearby?

A couple of quick questions:

1: Have you unlocked the T3 jetpack and the T3 GPS satellite?

2: Have you unlocked the Interior Wall item and/or the Construction Menu Filter chip?

3: If you haven't unlocked any of those items yet, do you remember the last item you unlocked with a generic blueprint chip (not one of those chips that has the picture of the item on it)?

I ask because the generic blueprint chips unlock items in tiers (from 1 to 10), with the small explosive being in the Tier 9 group, so knowing what the last blueprint item you unlocked was we can work out how many more chips you'll need to find to both get to the explosives and also to unlock everything.

In fact there's 2 locations in the volcanic zone worth checking, there's the very large crashed ship wedged between some big rocks that John referred to above, and nearby to that there's also a random ladder in the ground which leads down into a small underground base.

I got several new chips yesterday - off the top of my head, that included the T3 GPS, the T3 Jetpack, and the T2 Deconstruction Chip. Definitely _don't_ have the filtering chip, and I can't say re: the interior wall (wasn't paying too much attention to building blueprints).

Re: the underground base accessed via ladder, I've come across a handful of those, including one quite close the large 'lava wreck'.
Yeah, get a few more blue chips and you'll get explosives.

explosives are a random blue chip drop. Same with the T2 deconstructor that some wrecks require. IMO explosives are gated a bit too deep, by the time it becomes available to blue chips, you've already nearly run out of them. The rest would be hidden behind doors that can only be unlocked via explosives.

That being the case you need maybe 9-10 more generic blueprint chips and you'll have unlocked all of the items on the list, then you'll just have to work through finding all the item-specific blueprints (of which there's about 30 now) to fill out the decorative furniture section at the bottom of the Construction menu. :D
Oof, thanks all! Sounds like I have at least a little way to go. I'm going to go back and revisit *all* the wrecks and underground bases with the T2 Deconstructor, and see if I can't open up any new areas that were previously blocked.

Since I didn't see you mention it, I do have to ask - have you activated all the Fusion Reactors in all the wrecks that have one as well as the deconstructable wall next to the Fusion Reactor in the giant battleship in the Dune Desert?

I had not, no - I don't *think* I have the reactive material (or the ability to create it) - I just assumed that was something I would discover at some later point.

Yeah, the device you need to power up those Fusion Reactors isn't unlocked until 45 GTi (billion Ti), so you've still got a bit of a while to wait (it's been quite some time since I had to worry about that, so I forgot what the unlock point was and had to look it up). Once you have access to that, you'll open up some more lootable areas.

Aha! Not as far along as I thought I was :steamsad:
