exploring and second base?
I wanna keep exploring and dont really wanna come back to my first base every time.

Is that a good idea? Do they share power? There is no kind of power grid / connention in the game so its not really obvious.

Power is universal on the planet. Power units do not have to be close to a base.
A common strategy is to build mini bases everywhere to provide oxygen. You might want a main base to do crafting and store materials but multiple small bases in every biome is a rational thing to do.

I moved to a second main base now. Yea, there is no base power management in that regard. All bases chare the same energy which is kinda odd.

I already found out the best way to get around is just have a living compartment and door in your pocket :D

Yes! lol Always keep 3 iron, 2 titanium, and 1 silicon with you. This becomes a life saver when exploring so you don't have to keep more than 1 or 2 oxy bottles on you.

But yea have as many bases as you like, I have 4 mains ones I teleport between for different managements and operations.
As you get higher in the game you will see that multiple bases actually become super useful, and actually a blessing in some cases. Especially when you start experiencing resource overflow haha.

I#m about to expend my radius again. I already found a lot of wrecks and sulfur and Osmium.

But there is still a lot to see.

Out of curiosity why do you say it would be practical?

Personally I didn't continue until the last stage of the game but I still made good progress (I stopped a little before the amphibians), and I still have a single main base and that suits me well.
I have several compartments spread all over the place, I built them when I still needed 02 and I was exploring, I even started building a secondary base because I was tired of going back and forth ...but I stopped because I realized that it was ultimately not very useful. And since I unlocked the teleporters I find it even less useful knowing that we can quickly access almost any resource

I have two main bases built then about 5-8 mini spots for inventory storage. Main bases have a teleporter for easy moving back and fourth, When you get the reactors you'll have way to much power for everything you need and won't have any issues. START BUILDING! :steamhappy:

I usually have 1 main base near the big lake (actually over it lol), and then I have one up on the north ridge above the Grand Rift where all my power suppliers, drills, and heaters go so they are out of site. And then a small one outside of the mushroom cave, and a small one near the waterfall.

Tip: Basic wind turbines work as great navigation markers while adding to your power grid. They are highly visible from a distance and are cheap to make.

Everyone has their own playstyle for what they use the multiple bases for, or may choose not to use multiple at all. For me I run multiple factory-like bases.

Each base I have has a small secondary purpose other than just being a home, such as one of my bases being an advance material facility designed to make circuit boards, fusion cells and various rods. I also have a farming area that has a large lake of fish/algae farms and it specializes in making various foods as well as crafting mutagens, another area I have is close to the Paradise because I found that the Paradise is a great place to find the 3 base insect larvae in higher chances of uncommon and rare, and I often go there if i need more rares (because you can essentially make uncommons and commons easily). And my last area is my main base where I ship and store everything to and from. Each place also has several trade rockets for shipping out excess boards, food, and other mats. (And of course each place has a drone station to make it easier for my drones to dip between bases, and a teleporter for me to visit easier.)
