Game Crashing when loading save

when i load a save the game crashes if i start a new save game (and then load it) the game crashes i uninstalled reinstalled and Verified files it still crashes it was working on the 23rd after the last update however ever since then it doesn't work changing settings nope still doesn't work i don't know how to fix this any help is much appreciated thank you in advance

I am having the same issue. I know I'm running on a crappy lap top but I can join someone else's game and play just fine, but my laptop can't get through the cut scene when I open my own game.

When I asked the same question I got the answer to change something in the game's save file (to not load the beginning intro video)...

Bujt I have forgot what It was...

The thing is that the game apparantly plays some kind of intro video and on some computers the entire game crashes when it tries to play it...

And I am using Linux Mint and I have come to the conclusion that Proton have generally problems with playing videos (it isn't just Planett Crafter)...

i don't believe that it's the intro i have 2 pre-issue save (saves that have been played more then twice don't play the intro) also i am on win/11 latest update so not that also I AM NOT TALKING ABOUT STARTING A NEW SAVE IM TALKING ABOUT LOADING A OLD SAVE also starting a new save also has the same results

My God man you got the game to run on a 15 watt processor with internal GPU with a 300mhz base frequency?

Try these:
- Install the latest graphics driver yout system allows.
- Disable GPU Resident Drawer and GPU Occlusion Culling in game graphics options.
- Toggle between Fullscreen Exclusive and Fullscreen Windowed.
- Lower the resolution to 720p on game options.

I get that you're stressed about this, but please do not all-caps shout at other people on here who are simply trying to offer their help, not only is that not polite, but it may deter other folks from wanting to help you.

Some questions for you both in addition to the steps akarnokd suggested above (obviously try akarnokd's steps first before going through the questions below) :

1: Do you have any mods installed for this game? If you do, either update them or uninstall them, and then retest the game.

2: At the main menu, double check the settings in the Graphics tab of the options menu. Make sure none of the settings, e.g. resolution, refresh rate, etc. are set to random values that you wouldn't expect or that don't make sense.

3: While in the Graphics Tab, also check the display mode, is it set to Windowed, Fullscreen-Windowed, or Fullscreen?

4: Browse to the save game folder (on Windows this is at) :

C:/Users/[username]/AppData/LocalLow/MijuGames/Planet Crafter/)

Find your .json save file and open it with a text editor, e.g. Wordpad, Notepad++, etc.

Firstly, find line 9 near the top of the save file, and copy/paste it here please. Line 9 contains 11 tags, and starts with the tag "id": and ends with the tag "planetId":

Now scroll down to near the bottom of the save file (N.B. the line number will depend upon how far into the game you've gotten with that save so it WILL be different in each save file)

Look for a line that starts with the tag "saveDisplayName": immediately followed by the tag "planetId": - this line should end with the tag "gameStartLocation": - this line is longer and will contain at least 22 tags

As with Line 9 above, copy/paste this line here please.

Note that, other than your username, both of these lines contain no personally identifiable information, they only contain key data about your save and the world you were on at the point you last saved the game. At a guess any missing or corrupt data in either/both of these lines could cause the save to not load properly or maybe even at all.

my drivers are all up to date and i did the rest of the suggestions that almost crashed my pc and still doesn't work

It fixed it's self after returning the setting's back??? i don't get it how what huh???
