Since unlocks are from varied sources, it is entirely possible you can get a higher tier before a lower tier.
If you explore a bunch of wrecks and get a ton of blueprint chips, it's entirely possible you can unlock the T2 from the blueprint chip before you get the T1 from Terraforming.
I would posit that if you are unlocking things out-of-order with the blueprint chips, you should slow your wreck delving down a little. Boxes in those wrecks give better loot with higher Terraformation levels. While I am typically outspoken against the practice of letting boxes go until the end of the game hoping to get Pulsar Quartz (which isn't even necessary as you can make them), I do urge at least doing wrecks in stages to spread the loot out a bit more across the different TIs.
You don't want to starve yourself of loot, but yet if you loot them all too early, then you'll have to make most of your own later-game craftables which will slow you down.
But, if you do it JUST right, you'll find tons of free rods, bacteria, mutagen, fertilizers and rocket engines, but yet still have ample materials earlier in the game. It's something that takes practice and time to get a feeling for when you should loot which wrecks.
Unlocking stuff out of order happens with other things too, notably the Tree Spreaders. A couple playthroughs I did, I unlocked the T2 Tree Spreader from o2 generation (6ppm) before I unlocked the T1 through the 45t Biomass. This is particularly easy to do if you forget to start Plants as early as possible with Grass Spreaders and/or if you wait awhile before building your algae generators. The addition of Fuses and Machine Optimizers exacerbates this, as there's lots of RNG involved. If you find an o2 fuse or two (which is quite common, it seems to be the most common fuse to find early-game), you can easily hit the 6ppm by placing these fuses next to flower spreaders with golden seeds before you hit the 45t of Biomass (which is quite an undertaking before you get Tree Spreaders).
Ive sat in the vehicle and clicked it and it doesnt go anywhere, ive tried putting it on my own suit and it wont go, theres nowhere in the computer station view at the vehicle station it can go....
Anyone have any insight? Seems like it should tell you where to put it when you craft it, or in the vehicle station or computer UI.
Just noticed though that the open inventory prompt and the prompt to open vehicle options says the same thing, they're just slightly apart on the left rear.
