Humble super alloy rods?
I need super alloy rods to further my building and to send up rockets. I am not quite up to the auto crafter. Do they appear in any boxes etc anywhere??? I have yet to find any :(

From what Im told crate loots is based on your progression.

But eventually you'll unlock the ability to craft them so no worries there

I know "eventually" I will unlock the auto crafter but I have a lot of craftables/ rockets that need the super alloy rod which makes me feel "stuck" for a very long time. I would assume that shortly after getting craftables that "require" the rod they would start appearing during exploration and they just aren't. My MTi is just under 225 it that makes a difference

you should unlock it at 750 MTi, much earlier than the autocrafter.

if your progress feels slow build more machines and/or launch more rockets.

Check in the ice caves, particularly as the melt starts, there's several places where you can find quite a lot laying about on the ground - enough to scrounge up to carry you well beyond the stage where you can craft it, if you're snoopy. :-)

Thank you I will keep looking through them.

There are geodes that offer up various minerals - some contain super alloy and they can (rarely) contain rods. As do the osmium and uranium ones etc.

Make sure to get that T2+ Ore Extractor set up in the cave where the uranium and the frozen robot was to mine Uraninite.

When put into a T3 Ore Crusher, you will get Iridium, Uranium, and Super Alloy. It only takes 8 + aluminum (do the same for Bauxite near the huge sinkhole to get aluminum) to make a rod.

Underground geodes (in the area that has a sulfur haze) can be exploded for super alloy and one super alloy rod each. As the terraforming index increases you may find them cracked open on their own and can harvest the rods that way, but beware: sometimes geodes that crack open on their own like that have their resources disappear/fall through the world. I find it better to explode them yourself.

where are the entrances to the underground in the sulfur haze cause I don't see any
Behind that sand (water)fall..? If there's still ice, you night be unable to reach the location. In later game you'll learn to build the super alloy rod by yourself (8 super alloy + 1 aluminium).
I explored most of the planet but I did not find any geode yet. Or are they part of the humble-DLC?

Yes, they were speaking of the Humble DLC
Ah, sorry, I did not read the headline correctly. :)

It's one of Murphy's laws.... if you can't see it, it's in front of you, lol! ;-p

Early on in the terraformation there is too much ice to access the underground through them, as it melts you will find the various entrances.

Go through the sulpher area and then hang a left and look for the alleyway between some broken-up cliffs that look almost like they're fronted with pillars, the underground entrances will be inside those caves once the ice melts enough.
