Why did the game become paid even for people who started playing it since its early release on steam?
I do not know if the developers will hear me, but I would like that. I am one of the first people who saw this game on steam (perhaps not the first, but I am in a group of people who started playing this game at the time of its very first early release on steam). It's a shame to realize that the game is now paid, even for people like me. Maybe it's a cry of the soul, but why did the developers forget about us? Why those who almost from the very beginning play and support the game are now obliged to buy the game. Perhaps the price is justified, but only for new players. I would like to get at least something from the developers whose game you have supported for more than 1.5 years. Just a cry of the soul. Thank you all.

1. The Demo is still free.
2. When you say you supported the Devs are you saying you supported them by playing their game for free? How is that support? Its more like leeching.
3. Why would you expect someone to work long hours using skills and knowledge they strove hard to possess to simply give away the fruits of their labor for free? Don't they get to make a living?
4. You are under no obligation to buy the game.

I honestly do not understand this mentality. I suggest you read Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand. It might help you to understand the difference between Socialism and Capitalism.

Supporting the devs in a way that justifies getting the game for free, in my world, would be if you were specifically asked to play the game and report back any and all issues you encounter. If you invested your time, maybe even at times when your time was short, to actually help the devs especially in the early stages of development when most other people can't be bothered to try a game, let alone take the time to report every single issue, bug and so on.

Did you do that?

If so - you might be right in what you are saying.
If not - what Coops said.

The game didn't "become" paid. The "Demo" (aka Prologue) was free to play (and still is). But this only lets you play to 200 KTi.

That is just an enticement version to lure people in.

Early Access have NEVER been free. If you've never bought Early Access, then you've NEVER supported this developer.

Playing the demo and prologue is not a form of support, it's a form of engagement, after which you either decide you like where the game is heading and PURCHASE IT like the consumer that you are, or you decide not to.

You do not just get the game for free because you liked that Demo, that's is absurd.

The game has been in Early Access for well over a year, so it's also not just "become paid" by any stretch of the imagination. If you've only just realized that it's available for Early Access and you a long time ago played the demo, then you clearly aren't all that in to the game and haven't been supporting it.

My opinion is that you're either striving to be a 5 star troll, or you're an entitled little brat that doesn't understand how the world works and thinks that everything should be given to you... because you "deserve it" for some reason...

Perhaps your parents told you you are special or something, or maybe you breast fed 'til 12 years of age or something, I don't know... but this post is pretty ridiculous.

Email the developer and beg for a steam key. Maybe they'll give you one.

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL.....let me guess, you think the food in a restaurant should be free too? GTFO with that noise. Devs are trying to make a living, this is their job. How they pay the rent, feed their families, etc etc.

You don't want to pay, play the free demo and stop whining.

Absolutely my thoughts!!!

If they gave everyone who played the full demo a free copy of the game, then what would be the purpose of charging for it in the first place, we could all just play the demo, then be given a free game key for the full game. IF that is really what you are wanting, then why dont you make a demo, make a game, and do that and see how well you can pay your bills.

I played the demo and i like it so i bought the game after 15 min ^^ I don't have much time now beacuse i'm busy with work, so i can play less

Whilst I agree that OP is being weird by feeling entitled to have the game free just because they 'saw it first', don't expect anything good to come from reading Atlas Shrugged, Ayn Rand was a weirdo hypocrite who ended up on welfare despite railing against it her entire life.

Socialism is not a bad thing, Objectivism however says that selfishness and greed are virtues, a ridiculous position to take in a world where you have to rely on other people for access to food, shelter, safety, etc.

At the risk of getting too political and having this thread closed...

I will disagree. There is not a single example in world history where socialism or communism was successfully employed for more than 12 people. /hyperbole/
Criticizing the writer of a book is not an argument against the book. Statists often use ad hominem attacks when they have no logical response.
Edgar Allan Poe was a drunk, Hemingway committed suicide. Should all their works be dismissed?
You completely misunderstand selfishness as explained by Rand, She was using it in the context of "concerning oneself with one's own interests". Not in an evil way but doing what all animals and plants do organically, ie. acting in their own best self interest.

Finally, relying on government for life's necessities is one thing. Expecting other private citizens to fulfill your luxury requirements is another. I think we can agree on this point.

Well...

Firstly, Socialism, Socialist programs, and Communism are very different things.
Full on socialism hasn't actually been implemented anywhere on the planet as far as I understand it, but some places have come very close. Socialist programs however work VERY well and have proven themselves over and over all around the globe - and pretty much every single country has some socialist programs.

The things that you take for granted, rely on, and trust, are very likely all socialist programs. The only thing you don't like about socialism is money coming out of your pocket to pay for others, but money comes out of their pockets to pay for yours, and you don't have a problem with all of the benefits that you get from them.

Have you seen how during Covid China was able to build absolutely enormous fully functional and fully staffed Hospitals in mere days, that are larger than any Hospital in the US? This is what communism does. Also, Star Trek is a heavily communist show, and albeit science fiction, shows how it can actually work by ridding the population of greed and poverty.

There are good things about socialism and communism, there's also bad things of course. But there's bad things about Capitalism too, and actually not an awful lot of good unless you're one of the very few people that's actually benefiting from it.

Anyway, someone feeling entitled enough to get a game for free because they liked a demo doesn't fit in to any of those topics... It's just self-entitlement. Shall we move on?
